State of Mind

As president of a new distance-learning seminary, I have just approved an honorary doctorate to a distinguished South African.

He lives in a place I have never heard of: Mogoditshane, Botswana. Since my church and seminary are both located in Jacksonville, Florida, this was a remarkable experience for me, and it really drove home the unifying power of the internet.

On my way to the post office to mail the document, I wondered whether it would cost a fortune to send it so far or whether it could even be delivered there by U.S. mail. But the clerk handled the matter routinely, and the postage was $2.67 first-class.

Anyone can learn how to speak basic words in Spanish in a variety of ways. When a person wants to learn this wonderful language they should concentrate for the most part on studying the more basic and easier to learn verbs and phrases. The Department of Labor funds a number of youth-oriented programs age range 12- to 25- year-old. The purpose of these programs involves the development of youth and employability and occupational skills training in a number of different forums. However, it is my recommendation that the U.S. federal government do a better job with auditing their programs and analyzing the needs of the community. Programs that are needed and those that prove to be successful are not being funded or refunded because of budget cuts and allocations to other federal programs. I suggest that the federal government provide more support to youth programs and schools that are in an economically disadvantage areas.

1. There’s always one answer to a question

Throughout the process of partaking in systematized educational institutions, there’s always a criterion that applies to all the taught knowledge - That there’s an answer and it is absolute. Math shares the strongest characteristic of ability to freely choose how one goes about to arrive at the answer. Grammar rules have exceptions, but exceptions are also a form of indisputable truth. This does not mean that the questions, answers and methodologies change. They change to new answers that once again follow the criterion. Granted, they also change at a futilely slow rate.
